This is my blog — the journey after two months on Medium.
This is what I have learned and suggested over the past two months.
In January 2024, I enrolled in the Medium MPP program to earn money. At that time, I had a full-time job and wanted to write online to generate additional income.
Then my self started to collapse. The specific process can be seen in another article of mine, which is nothing more than reads, follows, and the income not meeting the target, and then falling into deep anxiety.
Afterward, I began to reflect on where the problem occurred. After one or two days of thinking, I wrote the above-mentioned article. My journey of medium creation has entered the 2.0 stage.
Subsequently, I began to reflect on where the problem lay. After a day or two of contemplation, I penned the aforementioned article. My journey in Medium content creation entered its 2.0 phase.
Now, over a month has passed, and I feel compelled to jot down some thoughts, documenting the evolution of my mindset. Moving forward, I plan to periodically update on my journey as a writer and the changes brought about by Medium.
Who Are My Articles For?
This question is crucial, and my answer is that my articles are intended for those in need, to help them solve practical problems. This is my self-perceived role because I am not a philosopher, educator, or politician; I am an engineer, skilled in problem-solving. Consequently, my articles may not have the broad appeal to garner high traffic. However, I believe that certain problems persist over time, and a good engineering-focused article can endure, aiding many individuals — this is what I aim for.
My Current Writing Process
For a novice writer like me, writing is a demanding task (at least it is for me). Initially, I had to allocate three hours each day to writing. With a full-time job, family responsibilities, and ongoing learning, incorporating these three hours disrupted my daily routine, causing considerable struggle initially.
However, I began actively adjusting my rhythm. During work hours, I utilized memos to record ideas, allocated time for daily reading, and used bullet journaling to jot down notes and ideas. I started rigorously organizing my second brain (Obsidian) according to the P.A.R.A method.
Now, writing has become simpler because my second brain has accumulated an ample supply of resources. I enjoy the process of compiling these resources into an article, achieving a true closure of the P.A.R.A. method. As I began writing, my reading efficiency improved. Bullet journaling helped me comprehend content better. With enhanced writing efficiency, my life has returned to its previous rhythm. I now live a fulfilling life.

Regarding Income
I have been on Medium for a little over two months now, and my income is not particularly satisfying. Compared to authors who claim to earn $2,000 per month on Medium or $150,000 annually, my earnings barely qualify as pocket change.
However, I have gained a lot. In these two-plus months, I have published 43 articles and garnered 413 followers. My most popular article received 2.1K views, 1.3K reads, and 614 claps. I am delighted with these achievements. Thank you all.
Additionally, I have created a publication titled “Re-learning Computer Journey” and although the number of articles published is still limited, I am committed to maintaining it.
Furthermore, I have truly refined my second brain, something I have always aspired to do.
I have also learned skills such as recording demonstration videos and creating GIF animations, skills I might have never acquired had it not been for writing.
